The Golden Triangle, Goa & Mumbai

This is the exact 3.5-week route we travelled, from the chaos and colour of the Golden Triangle to slowing right down in Goa, finishing in Mumbai. Where to stay, where to eat, what to do and all the local tips we wish we'd known before going. Use it as a guide, not a rulebook, and stay longer where you fall in love.

The route

  • Days 1-2, Delhi. Old Delhi & the Spice Market, Red Fort, claypot chai, India Gate.
  • Days 3-4, Agra. The Taj at sunrise, the best free sunset view, Baby Taj & Agra Fort.
  • Days 5-6, Jaipur. The Pink City's hilltop forts, stepwells, Hawa Mahal & the markets.
  • Days 7-22, Goa. Beaches and sunsets, markets, cafes, nightlife and the best food of the trip.
  • Days 23-26, Mumbai. Bandra cafes, Haji Ali, the Sea Link and a Holi welcome.
