My tiny video kit: DJI Osmo Pocket and iPhone
People always ask how I film all my content. The answer is my mini but bold kit, nothing too extravagant or full of accessories. The DJI Osmo Pocket does the heavy lifting for your YouTube content, truly the best little vlogging camera, my Fujifilm X100VI for any cinematic videos and film-like photos, and my iPhone 17 covers everything else. Most photos across my socials are taken on my iPhone.
The DJI Osmo Pocket
It's a full gimbal and camera that fits in your palm. That built-in stabilisation is what makes walking shots look buttery, and it's so discreet which I love. The battery lasts days, and it lives in my pocket, it really does live up to its name. You can shoot in vertical or horizontal orientation, making it easy to switch between the two layouts depending on what I want the clips for.
The iPhone 17 as my second camera
Honestly the iPhone does so much, as we all know. I use it for everything, photos, candid moments, quick reels, b-roll and anything vertical for stories, then the Osmo for the smooth hero shots mainly used across my YouTube. Between the two I can film an entire vlog without carrying a single heavy thing.
My filming workflow
Osmo for movement and walking shots, iPhone for grabs and verticals, and I edit on the go. The whole point is gear light enough that you will actually pull it out, because the best shot is the one you did not talk yourself out of taking.
